Health Economics  --  Public Health  (PB HLTH) 226A [3 units]
Course Format: Three hours of lecture and one and one-half hours of discussion per week.
Prerequisites: Graduate standing or consent of instructor.
Description: This course introduces students to the economics of health and health care. In addition to familarizing students with the language and tools of health economics, the course will provide an overview of key institutional features of the health economy as well as important research findings in the field. These will be used to evaluate the economic logic and incentives in competing proposals for health care reform.
